Reflection 1

Well I am finally posting after coaching from Malia. I went through periods of frustration and feelings of being overwhelmed before I got to this point.  I have to say I am very ambivalent toward technology.  I am a digital immigrant and quite often I can't read the road signs and therefore I become lost on the endless web highway.  Yes, there is some interesting information out there on the web but I do not have the time or skill to sift through everything to get the information I need.  I am concerned that this class is more technology rich than other courses.

I am looking forward to the idea of a flipped classroom, for young adults and adults I think it can support a greater depth of understanding toward the subject matter.  However, for the grade I currently teach, third grade, I am not sure if it is feasible.

I do hope to broaden my understanding of methods that are useful to reach students with multiple intelligences and create learning experiences that engage the student.  I want them to be excited about learning Social Studies.

  1. We will be working a lot with partners in class so be sure to ask a lot of questions. Make yourself do many of the tasks and that will help you learn it quicker. Often times if we are uncomfortable, we sit back and let someone else drive. Take the wheel, you will learn more.
